“Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day….No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation”. President Obama, 9/12/12 in Rose Garden referring to the 9/11/01 attacks, not the Benghazi attacks.
In a Pre-Super Bowl Interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, President Obama lied again to the American people. O’Reilly asked him to explain if his administration was covering up the true nature of the 9/11/12 Benghazi attack to protect his presidential campaign. President Obama lied once more to the American people by claiming that he labeled the Benghazi attack as “terror” on the day after the event. Yesterday, Senator Jim Inhofe told an Omaha Radio station “It’s just an outrageous lie, it is kind of hard to call it anything else. It’s kind of like Obamacare.”
To be clear, the “act of terror” statement on 9/12/12 by the President in the Rose Garden Press event was not referring to the Libya attack, but to the original 9/11/2001 attack on New York City and D.C.. The Benghazi attacks killed four Americans and wounded many others. There has been an incredible cover up of the events surrounding that attack. Future Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton famously asked “What difference, at this point, does it make” when determining whether the event was due to an orchestrated Al Qaeda style attack. Senator Inhofe also offered: “I will say this to my dying day — I know people don’t realize it now — but that’s going to go down in history as the greatest cover-up. And I’m talking about compared to the Pentagon Papers, Iran-Contra, Watergate and the rest of them. This was a cover-up in order for people right before the election to think that there was no longer a problem with terrorism in the Middle East,” Inhofe said.
The Washington Post found the claim that the President referred to the Benghazi attack an “act of terror” was a lie, giving the claim “four Pinnochios”
In Fact, in a 60 minutes interview immediately after the Rose Garden event, President Obama went out of his way to specifically state that the Libya event was not yet considered an act of “terrorism”
KROFT: “Mr. President, this morning you went out of your way to avoid the use of the word ‘terrorism’ in connection with the Libya attack.”
KROFT: “Do you believe that this was a terrorist attack?”
OBAMA: “Well, it’s too early to know exactly how this came about, what group was involved, but obviously it was an attack on Americans. And we are going to be working with the Libyan government to make sure that we bring these folks to justice, one way or the other.”
The American people are being deceived by President Obama on Benghazi. Americans deserve truthful answers from the person they placed in office at the head of one branch of the government to whom they have temporarily lent their authority.
