STORY OF THE WEEK. Editor’s note: Make no mistake, the goal of Obamacare and now Medicare is to ration care so as to stop spending money on the elderly and the sick. It is always the natural end of state run health care and the U.S. now has defacto nationalized health care. Pay close attention to how Britain is caving to U.N. rationing plans. There will be attempts to do the same overtly here in the United States.
The debate on prioritizing medical care based on aging will definitely be faced in every country. The question is why should the UN be telling countries what and how to prioritize etc etc? “Data released for the first time showed that across large areas of the country, almost no patients above the age of 75 are receiving surgery for breast cancer or routine operations such as gall bladder removal and knee replacements. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice), was also criticised for attempting to change its funding criteria to take into account “wider societal benefits” when deciding on whether to fund drugs….“Decisions on care should only ever be based on clinical need.”
The Affordable Care Act is becoming less and less affordable!! “The Blues in Md and Tn, both with the largest market share on the exchanges in their states, are seeking increases of more than 30 percent. In Oregon, Moda Health Plan is seeking average rate increases of 25 percent. Other plans released to date — including some in these four states — are seeking far more modest increases. The reasons for the rising premiums are complex. Part of it, as Levitt noted, is simply that the carriers know a lot more about the health status and health care patterns of their new customers. Part of it’s rising drug prices. And the planned phasing out of certain ACA programs that were designed to reduce risk for insurers who entered the untested Obamacare marketplaces, are also causing carriers to price cautiously.”
Must Read! “You may have zero sympathy for doctors, but think about the extraordinary loss to society of driving away 40 years of irreplaceable clinical experience.. Obama told the nation in 2009 that “it just won’t save billions of dollars” and thousands of jobs, it will save lives.” He then threw a cool $27 billion at going paperless by 2015..The $27 billion is gone, of course. The $77 billion in savings became a joke. Indeed “EHR technology can make it easier to commit fraud,” as in Medicare fraud, the copy-and-paste function allowing the instant filling of vast data fields, facilitating billing inflation. That’s just the beginning of the losses. Consider the myriad small practices that, facing ruinous transition costs in equipment, software, training and time, have closed shop, gone bankrupt or been swallowed by some larger entity.”
Good news! “The committee advanced measures that would unload Obamacare of the medical device tax and a cost-cutting panel known as the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). Both bills are scheduled to go to the House floor the week of June 15…“I’m happy to say … these bills have broad, bipartisan support,” said Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., chairman of the committee. “I’d like to think they’re just common sense. ”Less controversially, the panel is also set to approve tweaks to the Medicare Advantage system for the government to contract with private insurers to provide care to seniors. The “Seniors Health Care Plan Protection Act,” HR 2506, would prevent the Obama administration from terminating certain Medicare Advantage plans, putting nearly 10,000 seniors in Buchanan’s district alone at risk of losing their coverage,”
Obama seeing more disapproval ratings on overall handling of Presidency, handling of the economy, foreign policy, illegal immigration, ISIS, health care etc. Is America finally waking up??
Must Read! “Bill Clinton’s foundation set up a fundraising arm in Sweden that collected $26 million in donations at the same time that country was lobbying Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department to forgo sanctions that threatened its thriving business with Iran. As the money flowed to the foundation from Sweden, Mrs. Clinton’s team declined to blacklist any Swedish firms despite warnings from the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm that Sweden was growing its economic ties with Iran and potentially undercutting Western efforts to end Tehran’s rogue nuclear program. When Clinton left office in 2013, the Clinton Foundation had collected millions of dollars inside Sweden and Mr. Clinton personally pocketed a record $750,000 speech fee from Ericsson, one of the firms at the center of the sanctions debate.”
Good News!! “Clinton’s favorability rating has crashed in both CNN’s poll and the ABC/Washington Post poll. In the latter poll, Clinton’s result (45 percent favorable, 49 percent unfavorable) is the worst since April 2008.. In the CNN poll, Clinton’s favorable-unfavorable numbers (46 and 50 percent) are the worst since March 2001.What’s more, Clinton’s negative ratings are finally starting to take a toll on her head-to-head polling against the various Republican hopefuls. She has lost double-digit leads against every serious potential Republican nominee in just the last 40 days. In CNN’s mid-April poll, she led Sen. Marco Rubio by 14 points, Sen. Rand Paul by 19, and Wisconsin Gov. Walker by 22 points. She now leads Paul by just one point among the adults surveyed, Rubio and Walker by only three points.”
Must Read! “They say very clearly, “We’re not going to allow inspections of military facilities.” Parchin is a military facility, and we have hard evidence that it was used for weaponization after 2003.We understand that the Security Council sanctions are going to be relieved at the very beginning of the deal. And that the E.U. bilateral sanctions will be relieved in parallel to the Security Council sanctions. The only part that they’re not sure about is the U.S. sanctions.. That’s what they want- to have sanctions relief in order to rehabilitate the economy and to spend more money on rogue activities. While we witnessed the negotiations about the number of centrifuges, the Iranians took over Yemen by proxy .. and they tried to open a new front of terror against us in the Golan Heights.”
Fascinating! “Few people have heard of Cody Shearer, the unsanctioned diplomat, private eye, and Clinton flunky whose name surfaced in connection with the so-called intelligence reports Blumenthal was channeling to Hillary at State. But this shadowy fixture of the Clinton machine was everywhere in the 1990s including war-torn Bosnia, where he became the subject of an investigation after he represented himself as an agent of the U.S. government and took cash from a genocidal warlord. Now evidence suggests Shearer, working with Blumenthal, was up to something similar during the revolution in Libya. ..Much of the intelligence fed to the Clinton State Department was .. provided by someone with a history of misleading foreign sources, misrepresenting himself as an agent of the U.S. government..
Excellent article! “But to then go on to blame the crash on the financial system — meaning “Wall Street” as O’Malley puts it — is a flat untruth. The cause of the financial crisis of 2008 — which O’Malley is terrified of saying because he needs to have all those left-wingers in his party to beat Hillary — is government. Specifically the Jimmy Carter-era (1977) Community Reinvestment Act which, as Peter J. Wallison of the American Enterprise Institute noted way back in this American Spectator article from 2009, “vaguely mandated regulators to consider whether an insured bank was serving the needs of the ‘whole’ community.” Which is to say the government ball was rolling in the direction of forcing banks to make loans to unqualified buyers.”
“The Founders sought to provide aid in a way that would help the deserving poor but minimize incentives for recipients to act irresponsibly. They wanted to protect the rights of taxpayers by preventing corruption and abuses in welfare aid. Above all, the Founders saw the family and life-long marriage as the primary means of support for everyone, rich and poor alike. Until the mid-1960s, free markets, secure property rights, strong family policy and minimal taxation and regulation supported a culture of work and entrepreneurship. But through the rise of modern liberalism’s redefinition of rights and justice, welfare was officially reconceived as a right that could be demanded by anyone in need…Among the most destructive features of the post-1965 welfare regime has been its unintentional dismantling of the family.”
Why are airport security checks failing!! What is being done to make us safer?? These questions need to be answered!! “According to officials briefed on the results of a recent Homeland Security Inspector General’s report, TSA agents failed 67 out of 70 tests, with Red Team members repeatedly able to get potential weapons through checkpoints.”
What a mess!! This is what happens with Federal agencies-They want to spend more money and take control! One of their ideas is to open a corridor for the Florida panther that will allow access to residential areas. That is not a good idea and apparently not needed. Nor is the Florida panther endangered since it is already extinct. Read on!! “”Puma or Puma Concolor is the name given to all cougars, panthers, mountain lions, catamounts, painters, and so forth in North America,” he explained. “The issue is simply that they are no longer a Florida panther. First, scientists have disproved the existence of the separate subspecies, making all cougars in North America one and the same.”
Is anyone surprised by Cuba still being Cuba and arresting artists in the face of supposedly better relations with the US. What a joke. Obama, have you not learned anything from Putin, Iran, Syria, etc etc.
EPA Grants Itself Power To Regulate Ponds, Ditches, PuddlesThe EPA POWER GRAB- Infringement of private property rights!! “Republicans, farmers and industrial groups have called the rule an EPA “power grab” because it extends the agency’s powers to new heights. Environmentalists and the Obama administration, however, argue the WOTUS rule is necessary for protecting water quality. No matter how you spin it, the EPA’s WOTUS rule does expand the agency’s authority, and creates new avenues for environmental groups to sue projects they want to stop from moving forward.”
