“It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it.” George Washington
America was founded by principled men and women on sound principles. Our government was designed to have one function: to protect the natural, individual liberties of its citizens. The American government was never designed to grant a right to any person, rather it was designed to protect those rights that all human beings already have. Sadly, in 2015, it is clear that our American government no longer functions based on our American foundational principles and is actually working against the interests and natural rights of its citizens. We have a government as traitor to its people and a society in revolt against the natural rights of their fellow brothers and sisters. But we can restore America and its citizens to the greatness we once had one person at a time. The first step will be to remind your fellow citizens what the founding principles of America are. You can do that now by putting the Founders Corner monuments on your corner.
This week, learn about the founding principles of America in a special series exclusively on the Sunbeam Times!
Individual Liberty. Natural Rights. Limited Government. Consent of the Governed.
Property Rights. Free Markets. Equal Justice. Rule of Law.
The founding principles of American are now mobile and available for display by you; you can help restore America one person at a time. The principles are gold etched in black granite. Each is illustrated with images, quotes and our foundational documents. The principles memorialized are Individual Liberty, Natural Rights, Limited Government, Consent of the Governed, Property Rights, Free Markets, Equal Justice and Rule of Law. Download the Founders On Your Corner Flier to help promote display of these monuments. See all the quotes, images, documents and principles on display at the Founders Corner Website.
In July 2, 2011 the Founders Corner Monuments were dedicated at there original location on Washington Circle in Northeast St. Petersburg in a large celebration with speeches by many community leaders. The monuments were created and placed there by Dr. David McKalip, founder of the Sunbeam Times blog. In December 2014, Dr. McKalip sold the property but made sure to preserve the monuments. Dr. McKalip personally mounted the monuments on a 16 foot trailer and has dubbed them “Founders on your Corner”. The monuments can be placed at your church, school, community event, business or home and left for viewing by all in the community.
The monuments have already been out in the community. They spent a week at Shorecrest Preparatory school and also were displayed at the Pinellas Republican party “Lincoln Day” Dinner. In addition, they spent the day at a fundraiser by the Northeast Exchange Club to raise funds to combat child abuse. They will also be on full display at the “Celebrate Pinellas Park” Independence day parade in Kenneth City this Saturday! When they were on display at Founders Corner, parents and grand parents would come with their kids. School groups would come to learn what was on the monuments and they served as a focus during several special events to advance freedom ad promote free markets.
Those interested in displaying the monuments, can contact Dr. McKalip at firstname.lastname@example.org or 727-822-3500. For now, monument display will be limited to the Tampa Bay region. However, they will be brought up to the 828 “Never Again is Now” event in Birmingham, Alabama organized by Glenn Beck. Stay tuned this week as the founding principles of our country are discussed further on the Sunbeam Times blog!
