Trump’s First 100 Days on Foreign Policy

Good Overview! “In his first 100 days, Trump-who campaigned on an “America first” platform-has used the power to act on the world stage. He’s approved the launch of 59 Tomahawk missiles against the Syrian regime of Assad in retaliation for a deadly chem weapons attack on civilians. He’s accelerated the fight against terrorism, dictating more power to the military as it continues the Obama administration campaign of airstrikes and limited on-the-ground support for local forces combating ISIS and al-Qaeda. Trump’s empowering of the military was perhaps most visible when the top US commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Nicholson, dropped what the Pentagon has nicknamed the “mother of all bombs” on an ISIS cave complex. The Trump administration has also pressured China to help limit the nuclear and missile capability of N Korea, using strong rhetoric against both countries.”

Here’s How Wrong Past Environmental Predictions Have Been

Such wrong predictions!! “Each year, Earth Day is accompanied by predictions of doom. Let’s take a look at past predictions to determine just how much confidence we can have in today’s environmentalists’ predictions. In 1970, when Earth Day was conceived, the late George Wald, a Nobel laureate biology professor at Harvard predicted, “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”Also in 1970, Paul Ehrlich, a Stanford biologist and best-selling author of “The Population Bomb,” declared that the world’s population would soon outstrip food supplies.”

The EMP Threat From North Korea Is Real, and Terrifying

Scary! “55 years ago, the U.S. tested a nuclear weapon high above the atmosphere over the Pacific. When the device exploded, we heard nothing in Albuquerque. But, in Honolulu, 1000 miles from the detonation, the sky turned red as streetlights and telephones went out. EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) effects from the distant nuclear explosion had struck.Today we hear concern that cities might be destroyed by N Korean nuclear tipped missiles, but Starfish Prime should alert us to a more imminent danger: EMP. N Korea can launch an EMP attack before it has developed nuclear missile technology, and EMP may be far more deadly. An EMP disaster from a high-altitude blast seems like science fiction: There is a silent flash high in the sky, and everything using electricity just… stops.”

White House slams ‘egregious’ ruling on sanctuary cities

“The White House Tues rebuked a federal judge’s decision to block a Trump administrative directive aimed at stripping funding from “sanctuary cities,” calling the court decision yet another case of “egregious overreach by a single, unelected district judge.” District Court Judge Orrick blocked Trump’s admin from enforcing a portion of its executive order that would halt federal funding to municipalities that did not uphold federal immigration laws… the White House claimed the ruling undermined the American political system.”Today, the rule of law suffered another blow, as an unelected judge unilaterally rewrote immigration policy for our Nation,” the statement read. The White House added: “This case is yet one more example of egregious overreach by a single, unelected district judge. Today’s ruling undermines faith in our legal system and raises serious questions about circuit shopping.”

Come One, Come All: Python Hunting Now Open to Amateurs in Florida

Let’s hope the pythons don’t bite their captors!! “Python hunting, an activity once reserved for a select few hunters in FL, is now open to the average Joe wanting to snag a slithering snake. Fl wildlife officials unveiled a new way state officials will try to rid the Everglades of the invasive species taking over and wreaking havoc on the environment. Rather than limit the search for the snakes to experienced hunters, the average Fl man and woman can now join in the fight against pythons. Dubbed the “Python Pickup Program,” the Fl Fish and Wildlife Commission will hand out prizes to anyone in Fl who captures a python, snaps a photo and sends it over. The reward for nabbing a snake? On top of bragging rights, amateur python hunters receive a “Python Pickup Program” t-shirt and get entered into a larger drawing to win prizes.”

Obama’s hidden Iran deal giveaway

More Lies!!”When Obama released Iranian-born prisoners who “were not charged with terrorism or violent offenses” last year, his administration presented the move as a modest trade-off for the greater good of the Iran nuclear agreement and Tehran’s pledge to free 5 Americans…But Obama and other administration representatives weren’t telling the whole story in their prisoner swap l..Obama portrayed the 7 men he freed as “civilians.” The official described them as businessmen convicted of or awaiting trial for mere “sanctions-related offenses..”In reality, some of them were accused by Obama’s own DOJ of posing threats to nationall security. 3 were part of an illegal procurement network supplying Iran with U.S.-made microelectronics with applications in surface-to-air and cruise missiles like the kind Tehran test-fired recently.”

White House ‘confident’ of averting shutdown as Trump shows flexibility on wall

“The White House sought Mon to calm a jittery Washington ahead of a showdown with Congress over spending, and Trump softened his demand that a deal to keep the federal government open include money to begin construction on his long-promised border wall…But with a Fri deadline looming to pass a new spending bill, the Trump administration projected confidence that a shutdown would be avoided. In the face of fierce Democrat opposition to funding the wall’s construction, White House officials signaled Mon that the president may be open to an agreement that includes money for border security if not specifically for a wall, with an emphasis on technology and border agents rather than a structure.Trump showed even more flexibility Mon afternoon, telling conservative journalists in a meeting that he was open to delaying funding for wall construction until Sept.”

ALEC: Mostly Democratic-run States Are A Total Disaster, Have The Worst Economies

No Surprises!!”The American Legislative Exchange Council released their “Rich States, Poor States” report last week and shocker—mostly Democrat-run states are a disaster concerning economic performance and competitiveness. ALEC included the top and bottom ten states in announcing the 10th edition of the report. NTK broke down who controls what in the respective state legislatures of these low performing states as well. You can peruse all the data on income tax, property tax burdens, sales taxes, death taxes, the minimum wage, how many public employees there are per 10,000 in state pop, whether it’s a right to work state, and much more. You can also compare states within these criteria as well. Some states, like NJ and IL, are not shockers. While they have Republican governors, Democrats dominate the legislatures. In NJ, Christie touted pension reform, though the Garden State has a long way to go..”

Byron York: Trump’s 100 days: An executive success

Good Start! “The “Contract” listed 18 actions Trump would take under his executive authority as president, and the back listed ten pieces of legislation he would introduce in Congress… On the executive action front, Trump has kept a significant number of promises: Trump promised to “begin the process” of selecting a Supreme Court Justice.. Trump did just that, and Gorsuch is now on the Court. Trump promised to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. As president, he did it.Trump promised to require that “for every new federal regulation, 2 existing regulations must be eliminated.” As president, he did it. Trump promised to “lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks” on Keystone and other projects. As president, he did it. Trump promised to “begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants” in the U.S. As president, he did it.”

Here’s How Much The FBI Planned To Pay Trump Dossier Author

“New details are emerging about the FBI’s arrangement with the former British spy who compiled the dossier on Trump. According to The NYT, FBI agents met in early Oct with the former spy, Steele, to discuss his future work on the dossier. Steele started compiling research in June on Trump’s potential ties to Russia. He was working for Fusion GPS, a client of an ally of Hillary’s.The Times reports that Steele and the FBI settled on a $50,000 payout if the ex-MI6 agent could corroborate information contained in his dossier. As The Times notes, the payment was never made, suggesting that Steele was not able to confirm information in his memos…The report raises questions about the confidence that the FBI had in the dossier. And that level of confidence is important because the FBI relied on the dossier in a Sept application for a FISA warrant against Carter Page.”

Florida’s top court green lights voting right for felons ballot question

Turning FL blue?”Voting rights advocates and civil rights attorneys cheered the Fl Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling Thursday approving language of a proposed amendment that would restore voting rights for convicted felons, saying the decision is a major step toward erasing a lingering vestige of Jim Crow.”It’s a game changer,” said a University of FL political scientist who said the ruling could alter the state’s political landscape by opening elections up for hundreds of thousands of new voters. If supporters collect the needed signatures to get on the measure on the 2018 ballot, it could energize Democrat-leaning voters in a year when Fl will elect a new governor and a US senator. The proposed measure still needs a total of 766,200 signatures before it can be placed on the 2018 ballot.”

‘Communism for Kids’ Turns Deadly Ideology Into a Fairy Tale

Horrendous! “In order to make the deadliest ideology of the 20th century palatable to young Americans, “Communism for Kids” is coming to a bookstore near you. This newly released book from MIT Press “proposes a different kind of communism..”The death toll from communist regimes in the 20th century is well-documented. One study found that more people were killed under communism than homicide and genocide combined, and only 9 million more people were killed in WW I and WW II combined than under governments of this ideology…It is bewildering why MIT Press would publish a book that cutesies up the political creed that gave the world Stalin, Mao, Castro, and many more of the world’s mass murderers..Communism seemingly gets a pass to be reimagined as a sweet fable while it’s inconceivable that a book called “Fascism for Kids” would ever be printed by a reputable publisher.”

OMB Director Mick Mulvaney Discusses The Pending Economic Policy Confrontation…

Must Read!! “OMB Director Mulvaney appears on Bloomberg to discuss the seismic, epic, confrontational clash that is about to take place between the Trump administration and the DC UniParty. There are no adjectives capable of describing the scope and immeasurable scale of the battle that is about to transpire between the White House and the Democrat/Republican UniParty.MONEY is where every entity within the full-swamp goes nuclear against Trump and the administration….If you listen to Mulvaney carefully, and accept that the UniParty apparatus is real and purposeful, then you can see the scope of the financial strategy coming from DC. Remember, the BIG CLUB has paid for legislative policy. They will not allow those payments to be non-reciprocated, all of the DC politicians are now commissioned to fight without limits or rules on their behalf.”

Nobody Works in One in Five U.S. Families

Wow! “No family member was employed in 16,069,000 U.S. families in 2016, or 19.6% of families..The number of families with nobody employed increased by roughly 19,000 from 2015 to 2016, although the percentage slightly declined from 19.7% to 19.6%…the bureau counts a family as households headed by a married couple or by unmarried women or men.. There were 82,092,000 families in the US in 2016. The number of families with no workers has remained relatively steady since 1995, when the bureau began compiling the data..”There are currently 5.7 million job openings, millions of which pay roughly $50,000 or more per year,” he said. “Policymakers need to address the skills gap that is preventing these unemployed families from seizing these available good jobs.”

Fl is ready to Feel the Bern Wed evening — Bernie Sanders is heading to the Magic City in the Sunshine State as part of the DNC’s tour to turn states blue in 2018 and beyond. Sanders will be coming to Miami Wed night as part of the DNC’s effort to turn historically red and “purple” states blue once more. Fl falls into the latter category of the DNC’s ambitions since it went red for Trump last year after voting for the Democrat Party in 2008 and 2012.
Both Sanders and DNC Chair Tom Perez will make the stop to Miami as part of a 9-state tour to champion raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, combating climate change, pay equity for women and making colleges and universities tuition free. The event will be held at the James L.
