Traffic begins to clog northbound highways across Florida

Update! “Fl traffic, particularly on northbound roads and highways, is clogged Wed morning beyond average for morning commutes, based on local news reports. Traffic along northbound Interstate 75 slowed significantly. By 8 a.m., it was taking drivers nearly an hour to get from Interstate 275 to Interstate 4, according to broadcast reports. The traffic comes a day after Monroe County officials ordered a mandatory evacuation of the Florida Keys and the mayor of Miami-Dade County said residents of Miami Beach and the coast should get ready to leave themselves. The FHP continues to prepare as Hurricane Irma inches closer to south Fl.”We are on alert across the entire state,” said FHP spokesman, Sgt. Steve Gaskins. “Preparations (are) underway everywhere.”

Trump to phase out DACA program – The Boston Globe

Good! “DHS said it would no longer accept new applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which has provided renewable, two-year work permits to nearly 800,000 dreamers. The agency said those currently enrolled in DACA will be able to continue working until their permits expire; those whose permits expire by March 5, 2018, will be permitted to apply for two-year renewals as long as they do so by Oct. 5…Trump admin officials cast the decision as a humane way to unwind the prog and called on lawmakers to provide a legislation solution to address the immigration status of the dreamers. Senior DHS officials emphasized that if Congress fails to act and work permits begin to expire, dreamers will not be high priorities for deportations – but they would be issued notices to appear at immigration court if they are encountered by fed immigration officers.”

The Middle Class: Uninsured and Hurting

Must Read! “Brace yourself for the next health ins crisis: the uninsured middle class. Obamacare..is driving premiums so high that middle class people can no longer afford ins. Several million are expected to drop coverage in 2018. Under Obamacare, poor lives matter -middle class lives, not so much. With GOP lawmakers paralyzed about how to repeal and replace Obamacare, Sens Murray and Alexander are swooping in with a plan to keep the floundering health law afloat. The Sens cloak themselves in the mantle of bipartisan reasonableness, but don’t be fooled. There’s nothing bipartisan about their scheme. The big losers are middle class buyers priced out of the individual insurance market and taxpayers footing the bill for the billions in extra spending these fixers are proposing. The winners are insurance companies.”

Proof that investigating Trump is starting to backfire for Democrats

And the truth will out! “There’s a lot going on in the Hillary /Trump/Russia investig that all the highfalutin newspapers who cover politics are still trying to ignore. Well, investors had better know this stuff before it bites them in the assets. So here goes.Numerous reports coming out of the Sen Judiciary Comm last week said that Comey made the decision not to refer Clinton for prosecution long before he even interviewed key witnesses, including Hillary…Clinton, you probably remember, “lost” her private e-mails, which she’d been storing on a personal computer server. Comey chastised her harshly but then said there was a unanimous decision not to recommend prosecution.Clinton’s e-mails, stolen by the Russians, have never been found. But the messages are still in the possession of the NSA, which offered to give them to the FBI.”

Mattis warns of ‘massive military response’ to NK nuclear threat

Good! “Mattis warned of “a massive military response” to any threat from N Korea against the US or its allies in a statement outside the White House after a meeting with Trump, Pence and top national security advisers Sun. Mattis said Trump wanted to be briefed on each of the “many military options” for dealing with the N Korean nuclear threat.”Our commitment among the allies are ironclad,” Mattis said. “Any threat to the US or its territories, including Guam, or our allies will be met with a massive military response, a response both effective and overwhelming.”Mattis called on N Korean leader Kim Jong Un to “take heed” of the UN Security Council’s unanimous position against N Korea’s nuclear prog and again stressed the US military’s position.”

Illegal immigrants cost US $296 billion in lost taxes

Must Read! “Aliens enter the US without authorization for many reasons, but for most of them the goal is to secure employment at much higher wages than are available in their native countries. While breaking the law provides very significant economic benefits to these illegal workers and to the businesses that hire them, it comes at a cost to American workers. According to Harvard economist George Borjas, recent research indicates that American workers suffer a reduction of $99 billion to $118 billion in annual wages because of illegal immigration..Unauthorized alien workers and their employers also enjoy multi-billion dollar tax deductions and tax credits that were enacted into law for the benefit of law-abiding workers and businesses.”

The case for a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton

Let’s have Justice! “America tried to let Hillary off the hook. Despite cries of “lock her up” during the campaign, most of the nation had little appetite for prosecuting her after the election, with even Trump willing to give her a free pass.“I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t,” Trump told The NYT two weeks after his victory. “She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.”But the Clinton e-mail scandal, like Clinton herself, won’t go away. It remains a blot on the legacy of the Obama admin, the Justice Dept and the FBI, and now comes fresh evidence that the investigation that cleared her was a total sham.”

In latest test, North Korea detonates its most powerful nuclear device yet

Now What? “Trump sharply condemns N Korea’s latest nuclear test, saying the country is “very hostile and dangerous to the US”N Korea sharply raised the stakes in its stand-off with the rest of the world Sun, detonating a powerful nuclear device that it claimed was hydrogen bomb that could be attached to a missile capable of reaching the mainland US.Even if Kim Jong Un’s regime is exaggerating its feats, scientific evidence showed that N Korea had crossed an important threshold and had detonated a nuclear device that was exponentially more powerful than its last — and almost 7 times the size of the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima. Tensions had already been running high, with Kim repeatedly defying international condemnation and increasingly blunt warnings by Trump and continuing to launch ballistic missiles.”

FBI, DHS Officially Classify Antifa Activities As “Domestic Terrorist Violence”

Finally!”Trump was crucified by the mainstream media after hosting an improvised press conference and saying there was “blame on both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville…. The prob is that while Trump’s delivery probably could have been a bit more artful, the underlying message seems to be proving more accurate with each passing day and each new outbreak of Antifa violence. As Politico points out, previously unreported FBI and DHS studies found that “anarchist extremist” group like Antifa have been the “primary instigators of violence at public rallies” going back to at least April 2016 when the reports were first published.”

Times investigation: Pinellas County construction agency steered work to board member

Glad to see this investigation! “Reuter complained to the Pinellas Co Construction Licensing Board in 2012 after part of her new $3,800 roof collapsed. The agency, set up to protect consumers against bad contractors, told Reuter it needed more information to figure out what happened. In a letter, an agency official offered the St. Pete homeowner some advice to help push her case forward:Hire Thomas Tafelski of Thomas Inspection Services to prepare a detailed report of the problems. The letter didn’t mention that Tafelski was the agency’s vice chairman and confidant of executive director Rodney Fischer.”Referrals like that could also land agency officials in investigators’ crosshairs. Recommending a board member for work risks violating state laws that prohibit government officials from using their positions to secure special privileges for themselves or others, experts said.”

Carr: When will all the Lefties do the right thing?

Good Read! “How many flood victims in TX have been rescued by the Antifa navy?Just asking, because this week I’ve been watching the “Cajun Navy” pull one Dunkirk after another all around the Gulf Coast. And those good old boys look like they just came off the set of “Duck Dynasty.” Hell, I’ll bet one or two of them may have even been falsely accused of committing a fake hate crime or two since the election by some unhinged Social Justice Warrior.. Hell, a Chick-fil-A franchise in Houston sent out a power boat to rescue a couple of elderly customers. And the old folks didn’t even ask if Chick-fil-A’s CEO is still opposed to gay marriage. Is Michael Moore hosting an All-U-Can-Eat buffet for first responders in Harris Co? If he were, surely MSNBC would be covering it, live.Where are Elizabeth Warren, Whoopi Goldberg, Steven Colbert, etc. etc.?”

Harvey Will Be the Turning Point of the Trump Presidency

Must Read! “Has Harvey shaken America seriously enough to diminish the cold civil war that has overtaken our country? No doubt a hardcore of hate-filled bozos drunk on some witless ideology will always be with us. There’s still a market for Guy Fawkes masks for junior college professors to pretend they’re violent anarchist revolutionaries out of some Dostoevsky novel they never finished…Nevertheless, a flood of Noah-like proportions has a way of focusing the mind, at least for some, maybe even most, of us. And Trump has clearly done well thus far in his capacity of crisis-manager-in-chief. It seems the presidential activity he was born for, Moreover, reconstruction is certain to go on for quite a while and remain a focal point of our national attention for a significant period. Trump should know how to handle it as well as anybody who has held the office.”

Rubio’s Bill Drains the VA Swamp, Hundreds Fired ~ Shark Tank

Yeah! “Trump campaigned for president on the promise to go to Washington, D.C. and “drain the swamp.”In order for the president to effectively “drain the swamp,” he would need to enlist the help of Republican members of the Congress. One of those members who has flexed his political muscles Rubio. Rubio introduced his Dept of VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017 (S.1094), a bill that was firmly aimed at draining the ‘swampsters’ working within the embattled VA. Rubio’s bill, which passed in the congress and signed by the president is paying huge dividends as hundreds of VA employees have already been fired since it was signed into law on June 23, 2017.Since the law’s inception, some 743 VA employees have been fired, 37 demoted, and and another 260 have been suspended..”

Rick Scott Victorious in Death Penalty Legal Battle Against Aramis Ayala

Great News! “The Fl Supreme Court handed Gov. Rick Scott a win over Orange-Osceola State Atty Aramis Ayala on Thurs, officially ruling Scott has the authority to take away Ayala’s death penalty cases. In a 5-2 ruling, the Fl Supreme Court ruled in favor of Scott, who stripped Ayala of nearly 30 cases after her office declared it would no longer pursue the death penalty. Scott then reassigned the cases to neighboring State Attorney Brad King. Ayala fought back, taking the matter to court in April, alleging Scott didn’t have the authority to take away her cases, but she ultimately did not walk away victorious. The court ruled the governor was able to reassign Ayala’s cases.”
